Youth Soccer

Soccer helps kids make friends, enjoy the outdoors, and learn valuable life lessons.

Soccer is fun, fast-paced, and easy for kids to learn.

Soccer is one of the world’s most popular sports. Youth soccer at the YMCA is designed for players of all skill levels and ages.

Benefits of youth soccer

At the Y, kids join a team based on their age group and play in a fun, skill-based environment. They learn the basics of soccer, such as passing, dribbling, shooting, and defending. They also improve physical and mental skills such as strength, endurance, coordination, and teamwork.

Youth soccer at the YMCA is more than just a sport. It's also a way to build character, confidence, and sportsmanship. Your child will learn to respect their teammates, opponents, and coaches. They’ll also learn to work hard, make decisions, and solve problems, and they’ll develop lifelong values and habits that will help them succeed in life.

Playing soccer at the Y is also a great way for your child to make friends, enjoy the outdoors, stay active and healthy, and experience the joy of playing soccer in a supportive and positive atmosphere.

Soccer Academy
Asheville, Reuter and Hendersonville

Y Soccer Academy is an exciting and welcoming avenue for youth ages 5-12. Academy level grouping is focused on practices/games to encourage athletes to love their sport as well as become better people. We encourage kids to challenge themselves as players and people. Volunteer coaches and Y staff lead players in drills and games designed to develop skills of ball handling, passing, shooting and defense. Sessions are player-centered (game-based, allows players more freedom to play). Enjoy practice and games all in one day of activity on Tuesday, Thursday or both based on preference.
